Los Angeles Architectural Photographer – Patrick W. Price

LACMA David Geffen Galleries

David Geffen Galleries at LACMA captured by Architectural Photographer Patrick W. Price

The new David Geffen Galleries at LACMA represent a bold architectural shift for Los Angeles. Designed by Peter Zumthor, this elevated “inkblot” structure spans Wilshire Boulevard, replacing traditional museum wings with a fluid, transparent horizontal plane.
As an architectural photographer, I focused on capturing the tension between the massive concrete supports and the ethereal glass facades. My images explore how Zumthor uses light and materiality to frame both the art and the urban landscape. This project isn’t just a building; it’s a sculptural bridge to the city’s future, captured through a lens of monastic, modern beauty.
