
Photographing the David Geffen Galleries at LACMA provides a definitive visual record of Peter Zumthor’s transformative vision for the Los Angeles cultural corridor. Patrick’s work captures the technical AEC complexity of the elevated horizontal structure as it spans Wilshire Boulevard, supported by massive concrete pavilions. This study focuses on the raw materiality and ‘monastic’ precision of the concrete craftsmanship, documenting the dialogue between the expansive glass facades and the surrounding urban fabric. As a pinnacle of modern institutional architecture, the DGG project represents a high-stakes evolution of the city’s museum landscape.
